Frequently Asked Questions

DO I NEED PREVIOUS CANOEING EXPERIENCE?

No, not at all!  The Kish is easy-flowing and generally not very deep.  There are not any

areas of real rapids to worry about negotiating through.  We will run through basic

canoeing techniques and give hints on how to "read the water" before each trip.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING ALONG ON THE CANOE TRIP?

Here's our list of items you should bring along.  Of course if you think of something you might need that's not listed here you should certainly bring it, too!

  • Sunblock (very important!)

  • Towels

  • Water shoes/old gym shoes (they will get wet!)

  • Hat & sunglasses

  • Change of clothes- including socks & shoes- leave in your car until after the trip

  • Insect Repellent

  • A cooler with ice & plenty of drinks- for safety, please refrain from bringing glass bottles

  • Lunch/snacks or order box lunches from us! (must be pre-ordered)

  • Rain Gear/Umbrella (just in case!)

  • A ziplock bag for your "dry items"

  • Wear your bathing suit if you want to swim

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN FIT IN A CANOE?

Each canoe will comfortably seat two adults and one or two children (three small

children may fit however you won't have much room for gear).  If absolutely necessary

you could have 3 adults. The total weight limit is 700 lbs.
